ECP calls political parties’ meeting to devise election code of conduct

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday convened the meeting of political parties on February 9 for holding consultations over devising the code of conduct for elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

Chief Secretaries as well as inspectors general of Police of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will brief the participants of the meeting. 

The decision was taken at a meeting of the ECP officials, which was presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja. 

Members of the ECP, secretary ECP, and other senior officials attended the meeting.  

Briefing the meeting about the elections to be held for the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assemblies and National Assembly seats, secretary election commission said that a request had been made to the registrars of the Lahore High Court and Peshawar High Court for providing services of judicial officers for holding elections for the two provincial assemblies.
