Police Service of Pakistan officer Nasir Mehmood, serving in BS-18, has been appointed as the new Chief Security Officer to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

According to official reports, SP Nasir Mehmood was previously serving under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. On Wednesday, the Establishment Division issued a formal notification confirming his appointment.

The notification states that Nasir Mehmood, a BS-18 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been transferred and posted as Chief Security Officer to the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, in his own pay and scale, with immediate effect and until further orders.

He replaces Muhammad Imran, also a BS-18 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, who previously held the role. Imran had earlier been promoted from Additional Security Officer to the top security slot for the premier before being relieved of his current assignment.
