Police called in after student protests feared at Islamabad’s Quaid University

Tensions arose between students and the administration at Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad on Thursday, after which a heavy police contingent was called in to control the situation in case the students start protesting, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Students of Gender Studies Department tried to protest in favour of some students who did not pay exam fees. 

On being informed about the gathering of students, the Vice Chancellor and the security team reached the spot.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor and the security team chased away the gathered students.

In view of the fear of protest in the university, a police contingent was also called in.

On the other hand, the leaders of the Student Federation have called a protest meeting against the alleged violence on students.
