A school guard sustained injuries when he was shot at by fleeing dacoits in Karachi on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On seeing dacoits on the run after snatching a motorcycle from a man in the limits of Rizvia police station, Ahmad, the guard, chased them but when he pulled the trigger of his pistol, it did not go off.
Noticing that the weapon in the hands of the guard had not worked, the dacoits opened fire at him, resulting in injuries to him. The guard was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
It has emerged that the pistol that the guard was carrying in his hands was faulty.
In his statement to the police, the guard said as soon as he came out of the school, the dacoits fired straight at him. “I luckily escaped the first attempt. But when they opened fire at me for the second time, the bullet got stuck in my body,” he added.
According to eyewitnesses, Ahmad kept dialing Madadgar 15 number for around half-an-hour, but nobody attended the calls.
