Heavy rains, urban flooding risks expected in Punjab, upper areas

Met office has warned of heavy rains during next 24 hours in Punjab, Kashmir, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Moreover, rain-wind/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Northeastern Balochistan, Southeastern Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan during evening/night. 

Due to heavy rains, there is a risk of flooding in Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Swabi, Murree, Galiyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, North East Punjab, Kashmir, Dera Ghazi Khan and adjacent local/rainy rivers. There is a risk of traffic movement being affected due to landslides in the hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat and Kashmir. 

Heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Peshawar, Nowshera and Mardan. Heavy rains/winds/snowstorms and thunderstorms may disrupt daily routines, damage fragile infrastructure (mud houses/walls, electricity poles, billboards, vehicles, solar panels etc. 

In Punjab, heavy rain with chances of urban flooding is expected in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Noorpur Thal, Sargodha, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Chenot, Sahiwal, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari, Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan.
