A married woman was raped after armed dacoits barged into a house at a village near Muridwala in Faisalabad, in yet another episode of criminals targeting women which are being continuously reported in the country, said 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The gruesome incident occurred at G/B-192, a village within the precincts of Muridabad Police Station, as 10 dacoits forced their way into the house of Muhammad Shahid.
As they took the family members as hostage, one of them raped his wife Bashiran Bibi. Later, they fled the scene while taking away cash, mobile phones, jewellery and some other items.
Taking notice of the issue, Faisalabad RPO (Regional Police Officer) Raja Riffat Mumtaz took notice of the issue and ordered the CPO (City Police Officer) to submit a report and ensure immediate arrest of the criminals.
Earlier on Tuesday, yet another horrific gang-rape incident had surfaced in Pakistan as three robbers sexually assaulted a girl after overcoming her parents on roadside near Farooqabad town of Sheikhupura.
The victim girl is a Christian as her father – Youhana Masih, a resident of Kakar Gill – told officials at the Farooqabad Saddar Police Station that they were returning home after attending a wedding when the robbers intercepted them on a road.
He said they snatched cash and a mobile phone from them while tying him and his wife with ropes as they took away his 18-year-old daughter to nearby bushes for raping her.
With Pakistan witnessing an alarming surge incidents of rape and gang-rape, the motorway gang-rape in Lahore remains the most infamous of these, where a mother was sexually assaulted in front of her children.
But even more appalling were the comments made by Lahore CPO Umer Sheikh who blamed the victim on several occasions, saying she was responsible the gang-rape as she left her home without a male family member.
