Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved a murder case of a minor boy in the Mardan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after they arrested three members of a family who allegedly killed the child over a property rent dispute.

According to police, a man, his wife and a daughter were arrested for killing a class three student named Ismail. The accused were living in a property owned by the victim’s family and killed the child after they developed a dispute with the landlord over rent.

As per details, it all began when the minor child went missing on December 24 and the family members and locals could not find him after their fortnight efforts.

On December 25, a body of a child was recovered from the Katlang Canal in Mardan and the police later handed it to the family after identifying it as Muhammad Ismail, son of Mumtaz.

The post-mortem report of the child showed torture marks on his body as police registered a case against unknown people on the complaint of the victim’s father at a local police station.

After the arrest of the three people, the police have shifted them to another location for further investigation into the matter.
