PML-Q unveils women candidates for NA and PA seats
The Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has announced the names of its women candidates for reserved seats in the National Assembly and the Punjab Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.
The party has submitted the names to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The women candidates for the National Assembly are Farrukh Khan, Mehreen Adam Malik, Anila Iftikhar, Syeda Samreen Taj and Syeda Firdous Parveen. The party said that these candidates have been selected on the basis of their education, experience and contribution to the party.
The women candidates for the Punjab Assembly are Tashfeen Abbas, Salma Saeed, Syeda Samreen Taj, Zareen Bano, Onaza Ehsan, Aziza Saeed, Huma Shahana, Yasmin Khakwani, Zoya Naeem, Sana Razzaq and Anila Iftikhar. The party said that these candidates have been chosen on the basis of their performance, loyalty and public service.
The PML-Q said that it is committed to empowering women and giving them representation in the parliament.
The party said that it hopes that these women candidates will play an active role in the legislative process and work for the welfare of the people.
