PSL management plans direct player signings, eyes Joe Root for 11th season

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) management has started preparations to make the 11th edition of the tournament more extensive and attractive, with several key changes under consideration.

According to sources, PSL management is likely to allow direct player signings for each franchise in the 11th season. The move is being planned in view of the expected inclusion of two new franchises, which would expand the league and increase competition.

Sources said franchises will be allowed to directly approach and sign top international players, enabling teams to bring in big names from world cricket outside the traditional draft process. To facilitate this, PSL management is expected to provide an additional fund of $100,000 to each franchise specifically for direct signings.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that PSL management is also in contact with England star batter Joe Root. Efforts are under way to bring him into the league for PSL 11, which could significantly boost the tournament’s profile and global appeal.

The proposed measures are aimed at enhancing the quality of the league and making the upcoming season more competitive and engaging for fans.
