Punjab announces time scale upgradation for Special Education Department officers

The Punjab government has announced time scale upgradation for officers of the Special Education Department, providing relief to senior officers awaiting career progression.

According to official sources, the facility of time scale upgradation will be extended to officers in Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 18 and above who have completed the prescribed period of service. Eligible officers will be considered for time scale promotion in line with existing rules.

Sources said the implementation of time scale upgradation will be subject to approval from the Finance Department. In addition, the salaries of the concerned officers will be reviewed following the upgradation.

Officials confirmed that the time scale upgradation will take effect from the date of issuance of the official notification.

The decision is expected to benefit a number of officers in the Special Education Department and address long-standing demands related to career progression and pay structure.
