Jahangir Tareen says SCBA not party in his disqualification case

Asserting that the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) was a non-political body, ‘estranged’ Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Sunday dispelled the impression that the Bar was a party in the case of his lifetime disqualification by the Supreme Court (SC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Resuming his political activities following a break on account of suffering from the coronavirus, Jahangir Tareen, who is currently on a tour of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claimed there neither was any proof nor any witness in the case which had led to his lifelong disqualification from holding any public office by the apex court. 

“It is SCBA’s opinion that disqualifying somebody for life is unconstitutional,” the ‘estranged’ PTI leader said.  

Tareen first flew to Mardan via a helicopter and offered his condolences to MPA Iftikhar Ali Mishwani over the death of his grandmother. 

Then he headed to Swat and condoled with MPA Fazl Hakeem over the demise of his mother.
