PSL 7: Lahore Qalandars defeats Karachi Kings by 6 wickets

Lahore Qalandars defeated Karachi Kings by 6 wickets with 4 balls remaining in the sixth match of the Pakistan Super League’s Seventh addition (PSL 7) on Sunday.

 The Lahore Qalandars achieved the target of 171 runs set by the Karachi Kings in the 19.2 over. Lahore Qalanders’ batsman Fakhar Zaman made his first century in PSL. He made 106 runs on 60 balls with 4 sixes and 12 fours.

Karachi Kings’ bowler Umaid Asif took 2 wickets against 30 runs. Bowlers Mohammad Nabi and Imad Wasim took one wicket each.

After being made to bat first by Lahore Qalandars, the Karachi Kings off to the sensible start. As Sharjeel Khan along with skipper Babar Azam has put a solid partnership of 84 runs.

Karachi Kings have managed to score 170/7 in their first innings. Thanks to the blistering knock by Sharjeel Khan who made 60 runs of 39 balls. It was followed by Skipper Babar Azam who scored 41 runs of 33 deliveries. While Mohammad Nabi and Joe Clarke made healthy contribution.

For the Qalandars, Haris Rauf remained standout as he bagged three wickets. While, speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi, Zaman Khan, Rashid Khan and veteran Mohammad Hafeez took one wicket each.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and opted to field first against sporting rivals Karachi Kings in the six-match of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Karachi’s National Stadium on Sunday.

While, both the teams would be looking forward to registering their first win in the tournament.

Earlier today, Islamabad United had got the better of Peshawar by nine wickets in the fifth match on the back of splendid knocks from openers Alex Hales and Paul Stirling.
