Islamabad police summoned Awami Muslim League (AML) head Sheikh Rashid Ahmed at 5pm today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The police summoned the former interior minister over a petition which was submitted for the registration of a case against him by a citizen.
Raja Inayat, in its petition, which was filed at Aabpara police station, stated that Sheikh Rashid in an interview had blamed former president Asif Ali Zardari for plotting to kill former premier Imran Khan.
“Sheikh Rashid has accused Asif Ali Zardari of conspiring to kill Imran Khan under a conspiracy,” he maintained.
“Sheikh Rashid has put the lives of former president and his family under a constant threat,” he added.
“Legal action should be taken against Sheikh Rashid and others for levelling allegations under a conspiracy,” he pleaded.
