Daylong curfew imposed in parts of South Waziristan on Jan 31

A curfew will be imposed in Serwekai and Sararogha tehsils of South Waziristan Upper District from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on January 31, authorities announced on Friday.

During the curfew hours, there will be a complete ban on all types of movement. All markets and bazaars within the specified limits will remain closed.

Authorities have declared several routes strictly prohibited during the curfew:

  1. Sarwekai – Kotkai – Spinkai Ragzai to Nazar Khel
  2. Dargai Pul – Madi Jan – Shin Warsak (South Waziristan Upper) – Mula Khan Sarai to Chagmalai
  3. Sarwekai to Mula Khan Sarai

According to the instructions issued, travel on these routes will only be allowed in case of an emergency and with prior permission from the police or security forces, after presenting identity cards and relevant documents.

Only approved emergency movement will be permitted during the curfew. Citizens have been instructed that upon seeing security forces, vehicles must be stopped 50 meters ahead, and all passengers must step out of the vehicle.

Authorities warned that responsibility for any violation of the curfew orders will lie with the individual concerned.
