PTI says Imran Khan’s family to be provided ex-PM’s medical reports

PTI leader Salman Akram Raja called on Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi on Friday. According to sources, the meeting between Salman Raja with Chief Justice Yahya Afridi lasted for more than 30 minutes.

Sources say that Salman Raja informed the Chief Justice about the PTI's concerns regarding Imran Khan’s health in jail.

CJP accepts the demand of PTI and Salman Raja was assured that Imran Khan’s medical reports will be handed over to PTI within an hour. PTI has decided to check the report of Imran Khan from his personal medical team.

Meanwhile, PTI has decided to end its protests outside apex court. PTI has decided to convene the meeting of its political party at KP House in Islamabad. PTI political party will discuss strategy about Imran Khan’s health.

Later talking to media, Salman Akram Raja said that since this morning, “we have been outside the Supreme Court, nothing is more important to us than the health of the founder of PTI”.

Salman Raja said that since this morning, he has been in meetings and contacts with the Chief Justice and the Attorney General, and what has been achieved after the whole day's efforts is not entirely satisfactory. He said that after today's efforts, “we have achieved success to the extent that we will get the report”.

Salman Raja said that the struggle for meeting of PTI lawyers, family and friends with Imran Khan will continue.

He said the political committee will meet today to decide on the next course of action. Today, they will meet with the leaders of Tehreek Tahaffuz Ain Pakistan. He said PTI political committee will decide on the course of action in consultation with Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Chakzai.

KP Chief Minsiter Sohail Afridi said the party would announce its future course of action if its attempts to arrange a meeting with Imran did not bear fruit.He said that PTI will not backout of its February 8 protest call.  

He had also lamented that while the courts were issuing decisions on petitions, we are not getting justice.

“Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s cases have not been listed for one year. If the cases are listed today and we are provided justice, Khan sahib and Bushra Bibi, along with other leaders, will be released from prison within half an hour,” he claimed. In response to a question on concluding the protest outside Adiala jail, where the KP chief minister, along with other lawmakers and party workers, had camped, he said, “I have come here.”

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders staged a sit-in outside the Supreme Court on Friday, demanding access to party founder and former premier Imran Khan and highlighting concerns over his medical treatment.

The sit-in followed an overnight protest outside Adiala Jail, after the party filed a formal petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking access to the detained leader.

Security at the Supreme Court was tightened ahead of the PTI leaders’ arrival, with extra personnel and prisoner vans deployed around the complex.
