The Federal Religious Affairs Ministry has sent the draft of Hajj and Umrah Act 2020 to the Law Affairs Ministry.

The legislation is aimed at giving legal cover to Hajj as well as Umrah and after approval, Umrah operations would also be monitored. Currently, the subject is a matter of provincial tourism ministries.

It is aimed at taking to task the ghost operators and the persons involved in fraud and irregularities.
