The government has decided to give a paltry relief to the inflation-hit people as Nepra has given the approval to slash the electricity prices by 7 paisas per unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) Friday approved to cut down the electricity prices under the head of the third quarter adjustment of fiscal year 2021.
The new prices will be applicable from Oct 2021. Nepra has sent the notification regarding the price reduction decision to the federal government.
For inflation-hit and economically pressed people, the reduction of 7paisas per unit in power tariff is extremely trivial.
According to Nepra, after the reduction in electricity prices, people will get a relief of Rs6.70 billion in a year.
The power regulatory authority also made it clear that this power tariff reduction is not applicable to the K-Electric consumers.
