World Bank okays 100 million for education in Sindh

The World Bank (WB) has approved a loan of $100 million for the education of over 1 million children under the ‘Select Programme’ launched in Sindh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the WB, students from grade 1 to grade 8 will benefit from the programme while 3, 500 teachers will also be imparted training.

Giving further details, the bank says 1,300 subject coordinators and 600 headmasters will receive training.

Under the programme, facilities at 500 schools in 12 districts of the province will also be upgraded.

The bank further says that an additional amount of $55 million has been provided for the project.
