Husband, wife, and child killed in suspected honour killing in Karachi

A harrowing incident of triple murder has sent shockwaves as the bodies of a husband, wife, and their six-year-old child were discovered in a house near Ghagarphatak, on the outskirts of Karachi.

According to Steel Town police, the victims were identified as Abdul Majeed, his wife Sakina, and their young son Abdul Nabi. Police say the murders appear to be linked to honour-based motives, though the full circumstances are still under investigation.

Rescue officials stated that the victims had been dead for approximately 4–5 hours before the bodies were recovered. The brutal nature of the killings has raised alarm in the community.

Initial suspicions point toward relatives of the woman, with the victim’s friend alleging that the girl’s family may be involved in the attack. While a dispute between the two families had reportedly been settled some time ago, law enforcement is now probing whether the couple’s love marriage may have reignited old tensions.

SSP Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada confirmed that the deceased family had moved into the area near Ghagarphatak around six months ago, and that reconciliation efforts between the two families had been ongoing for years. However, those efforts may have ended in tragedy.

Police have completed the preliminary investigation and shifted the bodies to Jinnah Hospital for postmortem examination. A formal FIR will be registered once the victims’ family members arrive and provide statements.
