India refuses to play semi-final against Pakistan in WCL
India has refused to participate in the semi-final match of the World Championship of Legends scheduled against Pakistan.
Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan reaffirmed the team's stance of not playing against Pakistan. The semi-final was set to be held in Birmingham tomorrow. If India withdraws, Pakistan will advance directly to the final.
World Championship of Legends, 2025, presently being played in England. The Indian team secured its place in the semi-final after beating the West Indies.
Pakistan, South Africa and Australia had already booked their places in the semi-finals. And with India’s win, the semi-finals’ line-up is now complete.
The second semi-final of the tournament between South Africa and Australia will also be played on the same day.
Earlier Shikhar Dhawan, Yousaf Pathan, Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh had voiced their opposition to playing against Pakistan due to which the league match had to be cancelled.
