KP Apex Committee vows united front against terrorism in high-level security huddle

A high-level meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee was held in Peshawar, chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, to address the prevailing security challenges in the province, particularly in former tribal districts.

The meeting was attended by the Advisor on Information, Corps Commander Peshawar, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, as well as senior civil and military officials. Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies from Bajaur, Khyber, and North Waziristan also participated in the session.

Officials briefed the committee on the current security landscape, sharing intelligence and operational updates on emerging threats. The gathering paid tribute to civilians, police, and security personnel who were martyred in recent terrorist incidents, recognising their sacrifice in the fight against extremism.

The committee reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to continue joint efforts to eliminate terrorism and agreed on steps to restore full public confidence in security operations. Emphasis was laid on enhancing coordination among civil administration, police, security forces, and intelligence agencies to ensure more effective counter-terrorism actions.

Declaring terrorism a shared enemy of the state and the people, the committee underscored that the menace can only be eradicated through collective national resolve.

“Terrorists are everyone’s common enemy, and the entire nation stands united in the effort to wipe them out permanently,” the committee asserted in its concluding remarks.
