Kubra Khan reveals why she 'can't watch The Legend of Maula Jatt'

Pakistani actress Kubra Khan has revealed that despite loving The Legend of Maula Jatt, she has never been able to watch the blockbuster film a second time, and the reason is her husband, Mirza Gohar Rasheed.

Speaking in an interview with Maliha Rehman, Kubra recalled attending the film's premiere when Gohar (who was then her close friend) appeared in one of the movie's most violent scenes.

The Sang-e-Mah actress said there is a moment where Gohar's character brutally smashes someone's head, and watching it on the big screen left her deeply unsettled.

"As much as I love Maula Jatt, I wasn't able to watch it again simply because of Gohar," she shared.

Kubra explained that she struggled to separate Gohar's terrifying on-screen character from the person she knows in real life.

"I can't see this guy who's a teddy bear in reality just smashing somebody's head open and doing it so ferociously," she said with a laugh.

She added that during the premiere she even turned around to look at Gohar, who was smiling and chatting with a co-star behind her.

According to Kubra, she was reassuring herself that the frightening character on screen was nothing like the man she knew.

Kubra Khan and Gohar Rasheed were close friends for nearly nine years before tying the knot in February 2025.

Their wedding took place at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and the couple have often spoken about the friendship and mutual understanding that formed the foundation of their relationship.

Released in 2022, The Legend of Maula Jatt became the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time.

Directed by Bilal Lashari, the epic action drama starred Fawad Khan in the title role alongside Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick and Gohar Rasheed.
