SP removed after police raid on house of AG’s brother

After suspension of 11 officials including SHO Sarwar Road, SP Cantt has also been removed from his post following police raid on house of Attorney General Mansoor Awan’s brother in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

SP Cantt Akhtar Nawaz has been ordered to report to CPO. IG Punjab on Thursday issued a notification for the transfer of SP Cantt.

Earlier, a case was registered against SHO Sarwar Road Cantt and 11 other police officials with suspending them for raiding wrong raid on the house of the brother of Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Awan.

In the case, in-charge District Intelligence Branch Lahore Cantt Saeed has also been suspended for providing wrong information in the case of raiding the house of the brother of the Attorney General of Pakistan.
According to police sources, in-charge DIB Cantt provided wrong information to SP Cantt and SHO Sarwar Road.
In-charge DIB Cantt also assisted in sharing location.
Instead of verifying the information, SP Cantt ordered the raid.
sources said instead of taking action against officers, the SHO and officials were held responsible for conducting the raid.
