Amid political manoeuvring being witnessed for the last week or so, PML-N senior leader Khawaja Asif on Tuesday advised the ruling party to change their prime minister.

In an exclusive chat with 24NewsHD TV channel, the seasoned politician said they were in contact with the disgruntled MNAs of PTI. It would be possible to talk with the party if the prime minister was changed, said Khawaja Asif.

The PML-N leader added that the opposition parties would adopt a joint strategy at the All Parties Conference (APC) expected to be held this week.

The remarks came as the government had to rush to ensure support for getting the Finance Bill passed from the National Assembly. Although the PTI managed to secure 160 votes, the number shows that there may not be the required majority [172] for a vote of confidence.

That’s why PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday challenged Imran to take vote of confidence from the National Assembly.

The former prime minister said the speaker had become party, adding that he had never experienced such abusive language in the House.

Abbasi said every minister and department was involved in corruption and added that none of the allegations levelled against the PML-N and PPP leaders could be proven. “Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is now acquitted after 10 years,” he said and promised to face the government at every level.

The remarks came after the opposition members staged a walkout from the House over the attitude shown by the ruling party members and Speaker Asad Qaiser.

Rumours and political contacts are in full swing ever since BNP-M led by Akhtar Mengal decided to leave the ruling coalition over the PTI’s failure to implement the six-point deal.

Also on Tuesday, JWP leader Shahzain Bugti said after a meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that they had agreed to protect the 18th Amendment.

Earlier in the day, Asad Qaiser got angry and ordered turning off the mike of PPP’s Abdul Qadir Baloch as soon as he mentioned the name of Sita White which was followed by a walkout staged by the opposition members.

It all started when Federal Minister Ali Zaidi levelled serious allegations against the PPP leadership. As a result, PPP leader Naveed Qamar removed his coat and move towards the treasury benches, asking Zaidi to come and fight if he wanted to.

“What kind of attitude you are showing. Do you want a fight? It you want a fight then come. I am ready,” said Naveed Qamar.
