Neelum project to connect Pine Avenue with Ferozepur road
Federal Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Iqbal has laid the foundation stone of Neelum Road project in Lahore which is a key part of the Southern Corridor connecting LDA City Ferozpur road with Pine Avenue road near Lake City interchange, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The project worth Rs6.93 billion aims at boosting connectivity which will be completed within six months.
The opening ceremony was attended by local PML-N leadership. During the event, Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed, Additional DG (Urban Planning) Mudassar Ahmed Shah and Project Director Usman Nazar provided a detailed briefing about the project.
The 13.8 km road will be completed in two phases and include a 3-lane underpass on Jiya Bagga railway crossing.
On the occasion Federal Minister Rana Mubashir emphasized that the construction of Neelum Road will significantly improve traffic flow and urbanisation. He also expressed gratitude to CM Maryam Nawaz for addressing this long-standing infrastructure issue. The LDA is expected to begin work on five major structure plan roads across Lahore within this year.
