Govt notifies transfers and postings, suspension of police officer

The federal government on Tuesday issued orders for appointments, transfers, extension of additional charge, leave, suspension and retirement of officers serving in various ministries and divisions.

According to official notifications, the additional charge of Acting Chairman of the Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority, assigned to Special Secretary for Cabinet Division Sara Aslam, has been extended for another three months with effect from June 19, 2026.

The government has also approved 180 days of leave for Ijaz Ahmed Mahesar, a Grade-21 Senior Joint Secretary of the Commerce Division, effective from July 1, 2026.

In another development, Abdul Sattar Khokhar, Grade-21 Senior Joint Secretary of the Maritime Affairs Division, has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division. Meanwhile, Khalida Bashir, Joint Secretary of the Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Division, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary in the Maritime Affairs Division.

Separately, the Establishment Division has suspended ASP Sara Ali Hashmi, a Grade-17 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, for an initial period of 120 days under Rule 5 of the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020.

According to the notification, Sara Ali Hashmi, the former SDPO Sadar Chakwal, was awaiting posting in the Establishment Division. Sources said she had failed to comply with the Punjab government's instructions to report to the Establishment Division on time following her transfer in April this year.

The government has also issued a notification announcing the retirement of Shahzad Asif, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, with effect from September 9, 2026.

In addition, Irfanullah, Assistant Accounts Officer in the Office of the Accountant General of Pakistan, has been transferred and posted as Accounts Officer in the Police Coordination Unit, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Establishment Division has issued official notifications covering all the appointments, transfers, leave approvals, suspension and retirement orders.
