Deaths 21 as coronavirus cases skyrocket to 1,670 in Pakistan

There was no let-up in coronavirus cases in Pakistan as dozens of more cases were confirmed around the country on Monday with the death toll rising to 21.
According to the latest figures, the number of coronavirus cases around the country has crossed the 1,600 mark and reached 1,670 with Punjab topping the list with 638 cases, seven fatalities and 45 fully recovered.
The deaths increased to 21 as two more coronavirus patients lost their lives to the deadly disease in Lahore and Dina area of District Jhelum.
A 41-year-old man died in Lahore's Mayo Hospital on Monday bringing to three the number of coronavirus patients died there. This was the fourth fatality in the city and seventh in Punjab.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the other death occurred in Dina. Abdul Aziz who returned from Britain a few days ago was a resident of Meeranabad area which has already been sealed. His funeral and burial was offered early Monday. This area of Dina has 28 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
According to the latest figures, the number of coronavirus patients in Sindh has risen to 508 with six deaths two of them in Karachi on Monday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 195 patients with five deaths, Balochistan 144 cases with one death, Gilgit Baltistan 128 cases with one death, Islamabad 51 cases and Azad Kashmir six cases.
According to authorities, so far 51 patients have been fully recovered from the disease.
