Islamabad High Court (HC) was on Tuesday urged to dispose of Asad Khattak’s application against the illegal transfer to Pakistan of his children by their mother actress Veena Malik, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs submitted a written statement in the court saying Asad’s application was not in line with the facts and, therefore, it should be disposed of.
Asad Khattak filed the application with ulterior motives and manipulated the facts, the statement said.
Veena Malik had provided NADRA’s National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) to the Pakistani High Commission in Dubai, stated the Foreign Ministry. She has also submitted the guardianship certificates of Rawalpindi Court.
The Foreign Office further stated that the passports have been issued to the children according to Pakistani law. Emergency travel documents had been issued by the Pakistani High Commission after the submission of the passports.
The Islamabad High Court then ordered to provide a copy of the Foreign Office’s written statement to Asad Khattak.
Chief Justice Athar Min Allah heard the arguments on the application submitted by Asad Khattak, accusing Veena Malik of illegally transferring their children to Pakistan contrary to the decision of the Dubai court.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing in the case to April 20.
