The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has ordered Allama Iqbal Open University to end several degree programs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The MA, MSc, and M.Ed programmes at Allama Iqbal Open University have been discontinued.

The decision was taken under the new policy of HEC while a deadline has been set for the ongoing programs. 

According to the university guidelines, MA, MSc, MD students have been advised to complete the program by 2026. 

Similarly, MA one-and-a-half-year program is required to complete by 2023 whereas MSc, PGD, and Diploma in Education are set to complete by 2023. 

The university has issued a warning that the students will be solely responsible if they fail to complete the programme within the stipulated time.
