At the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will undertake a visit to China on Tuesday (31 March 2026), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Monday, Pakistan and China enjoy an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, characterized by close coordination and regular consultations on regional and international issues.

In this context, the upcoming visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to hold in-depth discussions on regional developments, as well as bilateral and global issues of mutual interest.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to China, despite medical advice to rest following his hairline shoulder fracture yesterday, is evidence of the importance placed by Pakistan on its relationship with China.

Sources said Ishaq Dari will take the Chinese leadership into confidence regarding prevailing situation in the Middle East, Pakistan’s peace efforts and the outcome of the meeting in Islamabad of four foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt and Pakistan.

On Sunday, Pakistan said that it was ready to broker and host "meaningful talks" between the United States and Iran to bring an end to their war, outlining growing support for its peace efforts, including from the United Nations and China.

Later, US President Donald Trump said that Iran has accepted “most" of a 15-point proposal put forward by Washington to end the ongoing conflict, with the framework conveyed through Pakistan in indirect negotiations.

Trump indicated that Tehran had largely agreed to the demands. “They gave us most of the points. Why wouldn’t they?" he said, adding that the US may still push for “a couple of other things" as discussions progress.
