Sehar Hayat breaks silence on divorce, accuses ex for exploiting daughter online
Pakistani social media star Sehar Hayat has finally opened up about her divorce from former husband Sami Rasheed, addressing widespread speculation and social media controversies.
Taking to Instagram, Sehar revealed the reasons behind her decision to seek khula, citing abuse, neglect, and the public exploitation of their daughter for online attention.
In a candid statement, she also called out her ex for using personal family matters and her past to promote his music, emphasizing her determination to protect her child and set the record straight.
The controversy escalated after Sami Rasheed released a song while sharing personal stories involving their daughter, which Sehar claims was an attempt to gain social media attention.

In her statement, Sehar revealed that she had obtained khula (a woman’s right to initiate divorce in Islam), citing constant threats of divorce, verbal abuse in front of family, and repeated humiliation.
“Yes, I have taken khula from my husband because I was subjected to daily threats like ‘Should I divorce you?’ and abusive remarks about my worth in front of family members,” she wrote.
Sehar also addressed their daughter, explaining that Sami Rasheed had neglected his responsibilities for a year, including financial support. “He didn’t remember his daughter for a year, yet now posts about her just for social media reach.

He hasn’t provided a single penny for her expenses. I never stopped him from seeing her, but this is now being used for attention,” she added.
The influencer further criticized her ex for publicly discussing her past, saying, “If he can bring up and discuss my past on social media, then he must be doing the same off camera. People just see one side and start supporting it. But I have more than enough evidence to defend myself.”

She also highlighted the unresolved issue of her car not being returned, emphasizing the lack of genuine concern for their child.Sehar concluded her statement with a note “One should not test someone’s patience so much that it turns against you.”
The revelation comes more than a year after her high-profile wedding in 2023 to Sami Rasheed, which captured widespread media attention, and their subsequent divorce in September 2025.
Sehar’s post aims to set the record straight and protect her daughter from being used as a tool for online attention, marking her first comprehensive public explanation regarding the split.
