Prime Minister Imran Khan has said publicising FIA report about sugar mafia is a historic step.

No one dare take such a step against such rackets that have made politics a business, he said while addressing the party members on Friday.

The premier said since he felt for the poor, he would bring in a pro-people budget this year. He said corrupt politicians have been backing sugar and flour mafias for letting these gangs loot the national exchequer.

Last month, two reports on sugar and wheat crises were made public. The probe found ruling PTI bigwig Jahangir Tareen and coalition partners’ Khusro Bakhtiar, Monis Elahi involved in the scam.

The findings were made public on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The inquiry body , headed by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general Wajid Zia, prepared the reports. One was about the sugar crisis and the second wheat crisis.
