Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Saturday poured cold water on actress and model Ayesha Omar’s suggestion that as a last resort she may opt to marry the politician from Lal Haveli.

Responding to a volley of questions about Ayesha Omar’s suggestion during his news conference in Lahore, a visibly perturbed Sheikh Rashid asked who is she.

It is interesting to mention that in a recent interview with a private TV channel, Ayesha Omar was asked a hypothetical question that what if due to a disaster there are only five persons left in the world with you who would you choose to be your life partner.

The host gave names of the five people which were Sheikh Rashid, Rana Sanaullah, Qaim Ali Shah, Chaudhry Shujaat and Tahirul Qadri. “So, with whom you will get married?” the host asked.

“I think I will go for Sheikh Rashid. He is entertaining, funny, has a good sense of humour and light-hearted. I will marry Sheikh Rashid,” came the response from the actress and model.

She further said, “I don’t know when I will get married. God knows better and still, I don’t feel like getting married.”

Ayesha Omar said she was pretty okay and she doesn’t think that marriage makes your life better however it destroys your life in many cases.

She said she was still a kid and did not need to get married as people get married when they want kids because marriage is a union when you want to extend your family.

Her picking of Sheikh Rashid created an instant storm on social media. Simultaneously the people were expecting a response from the federal minister.

Sheikh Rashid on Saturday opted not to give a usual witty or spicy answer which the people were expecting and instead he poured cold water on their expectations by just pretending that he does not know Ayesha Omar.
