Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA from Punjab Nazir Chauhan reiterated that he stood by his ‘stance’ against Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior and Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Nazir Chauhan on Sunday reached Lahore’s Race Course Police Station for surrendering after Shahzad Akbar lodged a complaint against him.
Earlier, a first-information report (FIR) was registered against MPA Nazir Chauhan, who is a member of the party’s estranged Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) group, on the complaint of Shahzad Akbar.
Shahzad Akbar accused Chauhan of making allegations concerning his religious beliefs during an appearance on a television channel, adding that these statements had put his life at risk.
Talking to the media persons in Lahore on Sunday, PTI MPA Chauhan said that he wanted to state some facts in front of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Chauhan said Shahzad Akbar is playing a leading role in the political party and our friends should consider the hereafter and should not support Shahzad Akbar.

Chauhan said multiple times people had asked Shahzad Akbar about his sect and belief and as PTI Parliamentary Secretary Punjab and MPA he wanted to ask about beliefs.
Nazir Chauhan alleged that Shahzad Akbar is promoting ‘people’ in different institutions and on what agenda they are working. He urged PM Imran Khan to take important decisions in this regard.
“People of Ahl-e-Sunnat Jamaat are targeted. I am against those who commit terrorism and take the law into their own hands,” Chauhan further said.
PTI workers of PP-177 constituency took out a rally in solidarity with Nazir Chauhan where PTI workers kept chanting slogans in favour of their representative.
Special Assistant to PM on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill in a tweet on Sunday said, “It is not wise to stick to one's position on everything. If a mistake is made and someone is harmed unjustly, then one should be ashamed and apologize.”
“Nazir Chauhan should not have spoken falsely and wrongly about Shahzad Akbar. Now, if a mistake has been made, it is better to apologize than to stick to it,” he advised Nazir Chauhan.

Earlier, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said, “Using religion card for personal vendetta is despicable. Lahore Police must take strict action against Nazir Chauhan for using third rated tactics against Shahzad Akbar. Shahzad is doing his job. State cannot function if it fails to safeguard its officials against such attacks.”

Shahzad's affidavit
Shahzad Akbar in his latest tweet said, “Alhamdulillah. I am an ummati of the last of the Prophets, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and like every umnmati, I am a watchman of Khatam-e-Nabuwat (SAW). This affidavit was also attached in the FIR. More statements are merely political revenge.”
