Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ignored the protests of the federal government employees and rejected the proposal of restoring a government holiday on Saturday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, PM Shehbaz has not impressed by the demand of withdrawing from the stance on ending the weekend holiday in any case.
The channel report said that due to the strict stance on the matter from the PM, the issue of a public holiday on Saturday has not been included in the cabinet’s agenda.
The cabinet meeting has been called by the PM tomorrow (Tuesday) on just three issues and the matter of the public holiday on Saturday is not added to it.
Pertinent to mention here that the All Pakistan Government Employees Association and other unions of the public offices had staged protests and demanded that the holiday be restored.
In the last protest of the employees, the government officials had assured them that the holiday would be restored as per their demand but now the situation has reversed.
