Pakistan elevates Charge d’Affaires in Kabul to Ambassador

Amid improved bilateral relations with Afghanistan, Pakistan has decided to elevated charge de affairs to ambassador in Kabul 

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister made this announcement on his social media account on X on Friday. 

Dar said Pakistan-Afghanistan relations were moving in a positive direction and it was evident from his fruitful meeting with the Afghanistan officials during his visit to Kabul on April 19. 

Ishaq Dar further said that in order to sustain this positive progress, “I am pleased that the Government of Pakistan has decided to upgrade the post of its Charge d’Affaires in Kabul to the rank of Ambassador.”

 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed hope that this step will further promote bilateral ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan. 

Deputy Prime Minister said this step will help in deepening cooperation in the areas of economy, security, counter-terrorism and trade. Dar said this will promote further exchanges and contacts between the two brotherly countries.
