Karachi hospital forms committee to probe child’s birth in washroom
The management of Karachi’s Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has constituted a three-member inquiry committee headed by Dr Haleema Yasmeen to investigate the matter relating to a child’s birth in the hospital’s washroom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Professor Abdul Rab Bhutto and Dr Saddam Saleem are also included in the inquiry committee.
The committee will record statements of the victim's family and submit its detailed findings within 48 hours to the director’s office.
It is necessary to mention here that yesterday, a woman named Nadia Akram delivered a baby in the washroom of the hospital.
In her statement on social media that went viral, the woman complained that she was forced to give birth to a child in a washroom as no doctor was available despite the passage of several hours.
