Pakistan tops Erasmus Mundus scholarships globally for fifth consecutive year

Pakistan has once again secured the top position globally in the Erasmus Mundus scholarship programme, maintaining its lead for the fifth consecutive year, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

According to official results for 2026, a total of 98 Pakistani students were selected for the fully funded European Union programme, making Pakistan the highest contributor among 135 participating countries.

The achievement places Pakistan ahead of all other nations, with Bangladesh ranking second with 80 scholarships, India third with 75, the United States fourth with 68, and Italy fifth with 67.

The Erasmus Mundus scholarships are awarded under the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, which supports international students pursuing higher education in partner universities across Europe.
