At least 13 persons were killed and 17 persons including women and children sustained serious injuries in a horrible collision between a passenger bus and van due to heavy fog in Sheikhupura’s Narang Mandi area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The over-speeding bus was bound to Lahore from Narowal when it collided with a van coming from Lahore due to fog.

The gas cylinder in gas van exploded due to the collision and resultantly a dire engulfed the both vehicles. As a result 13 passenger burnt to death while 17 others including women and children got injured. Many among injured persons are in critical condition.

Receiving information about the mishap, the security personnel and rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the victims to nearby hospital.

The deceased persons are being said to belong the same family who were returning to Narowal from Lahore after attending a wedding ceremony.

Rescue officials have shifted the dead bodies to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital in Muridke while injured were given first aid at the hospital and latter were transferred to Mayo Hospital Lahore, which has the facility of a burn unit.
