Urs celebrations of Shah Rukne Alam begins

The three-day 709th Urs of Sufi saint of the subcontinent Shah Rukne Alam will begin with religious fervour on Nov 30 (tomorrow), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In this regard, the preparations have been completed for the annual Urs of the great spiritual leader of the subcontinent, Hazrat Shah Rukn Alam. Caretaker of the shrine and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will inaugurate the Urs ceremonies by leading the traditional practice of rose water washing of the grave and laying the floral wreath. The 3-day Urs celebrations will continue from Nov 30 to Dec 2.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi will also offer collective prayer for the progress and prosperity of the country.
A large number of pilgrims from all over the country are arriving in Multan to attend the urs.
The Durbar premises will be illuminated with electric lamps while at least 1200 law and security personnel have been deployed for security.
