Kh Asif says Israeli violations render Gaza ceasefire one-sided

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has criticised the Gaza ceasefire agreement, describing it as increasingly viewed as “one-sided” amid continued Israeli violations, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday. 

In a statement posted on X, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Israeli forces had repeatedly breached the truce and continued to kill Palestinians, among them children, despite international commitments to halt hostilities.

Asif noted that at least 352 Palestinians had been killed since the ceasefire took effect on 10 October, while more than 70,000 people had died in Gaza since the war began.

He said the agreement signed in Sharm el-Sheikh was intended to restore stability in the region, but Israel’s actions had raised serious doubts about its willingness to uphold the terms of the accord.

He warned that continued violations not only undermined the credibility of the ceasefire mechanism but also threatened broader regional peace efforts.
