Pregnant woman killed in Sargodha for contracting love marriage

A pregnant woman was allegedly killed by her family in Sargodha for contracting love marriage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

As per details, Adeela and Mudassir had contracted court marriage four months ago.

Later, members of Adeela’s family took her back to her home and took oath on the holy Quran that she would not come to a harm.

However, when she reached home, her family tried to abort the fetus.

Throughout that period, Adeela kept telling her husband through voice messages what her family was trying to do to her and her child. “My family is trying to kill me and my baby. Please rescue me,” she told Mudassir.

Mudassir, on the other hand, told the police that Adeela managed to flee from her home, but her family again caught her. “My wife told me that she had succeeded in fleeing from her home. But her family had again caught her,” he added.

On the other hand, doctors, in their report, said that when Adeela was taken to a hospital, her aunt Munnawara prevented the doctors from checking her.

Mudassir said that her wife had been killed. “But her family is trying to portray her death as suicide,” he said, adding that not only his wife had been killed, but his child had also been murdered.

“I appeal to Punjab chief minister and the Punjab IGP to provide me justice,” he said, adding that now he also feared for his own life since Adeela’s family was also hurling death threats at him.

Despite the passage of 10 days, neither an FIR was registered nor a medico-legal report was issued.
