A cross-version FIR has been registered against 15 police officials, including SHO Rai Sajid of Machhiwal police station, following the alleged police encounter that resulted in the death of lawyer Zeeshan Shabbir, reported local sources.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the FIR was lodged after intense protests by the Wahari Bar Association and the victim’s family.
The complainant, the mother of the deceased, named SHO Rai Sajid, ASI Junaid Bhatti, ASI Ashraf, and 11 other police personnel in the cross-version FIR.
According to the complainant, police officials entered the residence yesterday and opened fire, killing Zeeshan Shabbir and his nephew, Hasnain, on the spot.
She alleged that a longstanding dispute between SHO Rai Sajid and the deceased lawyer was the underlying cause of the tragic incident.
The case has sparked outrage among legal circles and the local community, with calls for a thorough investigation and accountability for those involved.
