Court sends PML-N ex-lawmaker to 10-year jail

An accountability court in Rawalpindi on Wednesday awarded 10-year imprisonment to a former lawmaker of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs50 million to former MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Riaz in an assets-beyond-means case.

After the court delivered its verdict, Chaudhry Riaz was arrested from the courtroom and taken to jail.
The reference against the former PML-N lawmaker was filed in 2002.
