While exposing the unfulfilled promises of former premier Imran Khan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Friday that Imran Niazi had given the nation nothing except lies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During an address to the foundation stone laying ceremony of Bhara Kahu Bypass Project in Islamabad, the prime minister said that Imran Khan had promised to build 50,000 houses, but he did not lay a single brick.

“Imran Khan did not even fulfill the promise of giving 100,000 jobs. We put our politics at stake and took critical decisions. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) tightened our screws. We inherited inflation from the Imran Khan government,” he said.

“Billions of rupees are being spent on the import of oil and gas. I plead with 220 million people to differentiate between truth and lie,” he added.

“The country is submerged in floods, and this person is holding rallies day and night. Millions of rupees, that are being spent on rallies, should have been spent on flood victims,” he pointed out.

“They [Imran Khan] sold the gifts of friendly countries in market and put the money in own pocket,” he deplored.

“What has Imran Khan given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab? The entire nation has seen his ugly face,” he added.

“The previous government was not concerned with the sufferings of the people. Imran Khan has given nothing but lies to the nation,” he deplored.

“Imran Niazi has found a way to misguide people. I have never seen such an irresponsible person and a liar in my life. This person is immersed in lies from head to toe. He lies to the people day and night,” he castigated.

Earlier, the prime minister laid the foundation stone of Bhara Kahu Bypass Project and directed the authorities concerned to complete the project within three months in any case whatsoever.

The prime minister said that such projects used to have achieved their completion within two months, adding that the bypass project would be completed with Rs5-6 billion.

“With the completion of the project, people will be relieved from the agony of hours long traffic jams,” the prime minister said.

“The public welfare projects of Rawalpindi and Islamabad had been a victim of delay for four years. The coalition government completed all such projects after coming into power,” he added.

It is to be noted here that the 5.4km project was earlier planned to be completed within four months.

It will be a three-lane road on both sides that will help avoid traffic mess.

Also, the construction of a 1,350-meter long overhead bridge will be part of the project.
