Man throws acid on wife over domestic dispute in Lahore

A woman was seriously injured when her husband threw acid on her over domestic dispute in the limits of Nishtar Town police station in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.  

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Model Town Akhlaqullah Tarar the woman was waiting for a ride at the Haji Park bus stop. 

The accused suddenly came to the bus stop and threw acid on the woman and fled.

The woman's left ear and other parts of her body were burned due to the acid spillage.

The accused is the husband of the victim and had thrown acid over a domestic dispute. 

The accused had tortured the woman before the incident, regarding which a case has been registered at Nishtar police station.

A case has been registered against the accused Youhana Yunus and he has been handed over for investigation after arrest.

Earlier on Monday, a woman was killed after her husband, who was furious at her for seeking annulment of the marriage, threw acid at her in Kachi Muhammad Khan, a suburban area of Taranda Muhammad Panah. 

Azra Bibi, who was completely burnt, succumbed to her injuries on the way to a hospital.  

The man’s four-year-old daughter Surat and 70-year-old mother Phaphu Mai were also burnt in the attack. 

All three of them were initially taken to the rural health center. 

But later they were referred to Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur owing to their critical condition.
