Pakistan emerges significant player in regional politics: Law minister Tarar

Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar says Pakistan has emerged as a significant player on the global stage and in regional politics, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Responding to various points of order raised by lawmakers in the Senate today, he said countries around the world are inviting Pakistan, and many are eager to visit Islamabad to strengthen ties with Pakistan. On the issue of Palestine, the Law Minister the state of Palestine has welcomed the mechanism being discussed to resolve the matter and to bring peace to the area. He said we should also take it in a positive way. 

Federal Minister for Law and Justice said the government still stand with the 18th Amendment. He said Mines and Minerals was a dual subject and Balochistan's share in Rekodic was increased. He said decisions in NFC awards are made by consensus. 

Speaking about the strategic agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, he emphasized that defending the two holy mosques is a profound honor for the 240 million people of Pakistan.

Regarding the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, the Minister noted that provincial nominations have been finalized, and all decisions within the NFC are made through consensus. 

Senator Rana Sanaullah said that Punjab Chief Minister did not make such a statement against Sindh. He said Punjab has always played the role of an elder brother but Punjab has always been abused. 

He said Punjab Chief Minister did not say anything objectionable in yesterday's rally. Rana Sana said “if anything is said against Punjab, then it is the right of the Punjab Chief Minister to respond to it.”

PPP Senator Sherry Rehman said Upper riparians can never divide water. The formula for dividing water is decided by the lower riparians and all riparians together. He said adjustment motion will be discussed on Friday. She said everyone should be polite in their language. 

Addressing Senate session, ANP chief Aimal Wali said CM says she will not tolerate comment about Punjab. 

Aimal Wali said Awami National Party stands on the rights of small provinces as stated in the constitution. He demanded the government to share details of an agreement reached between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Talking about 20-point point Gaza peace plan, Trump has said that Pakistan had accepted it. ANP chief demanded that parliament should be briefed on these points.
