Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi Monday held a meeting with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar as two sides discussed matters pertaining to the session starting from September 2 (Wednesday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister promised to strengthen the working relationship with the PML-Q even stronger and move forward while keeping the allied party side-by-side.
During the meeting, Pervaiz shared the details about the new assembly building construction and said he was desirous of having the November session in the new premises for which, he added, work would be carried in three shifts.
The two sides discussed the issues related to releasing funds and the strategy to address the hurdles in the new building as well as the assembly session convened by both the government and the opposition.
Buzdar said the opposition parties had always resorted to point scoring on every issue and were currently dejected.
He praised the speaker for the way he has run the House during the past two years and the two parties would work jointly for providing relief to the masses.
The conspirators would be left behind and the alliance was going to continue marching forward, said the Punjab chief minister.
Earlier in the day, Pervaiz, in his capacity as the Punjab Assembly speaker, issued a production order for Hamza Shehbaz, the leader of opposition in the provincial legislature, so that he could attend the session.
