The Ehtisab Unit (Accountability Unit) formed in the federal police a year ago took actions against 59 Police officers and other policemen but there have been alleged reports of corruption and misuse of power by members of Ehtisab Unit itself, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The TV channel quoting its sources reported that In-charge of Ehtisab Unit, Ejaz Qureshi has been accused of misuse of power, the sources maintained.
Even the formation of Ehtisab Unit is also a violation of the Police Rules.
As per the Police Rules, departmental action can be taken on corruption charges or on the public complaint.
Now, despite the Ehtisab unit’s action, the departmental proceedings could also not be initiated against the officers involved.
The TV channel reported that violation of Police rules put a question mark for top officers of Capital Territory Police.
