PM Khan rejects petroleum, diesel price hike for Sept

Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejected the proposal to increase the prices of petroleum products on Monday and said the burden cannot be placed on the people in the current difficult situation.
Prime Minister Khan decided that prices of petroleum products will now remain the same in September against the OGRA’s recommendation to increase petrol price by Rs9.71 and high speed diesel by Rs 9.50, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Earlier, the TV channel reported the government was likely to increase the prices of petroleum products by Rs8-9 per litre for next 15 days.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) estimated and proposed an increase of about Rs8-9 per litre in the prices of petrol and HSD for the Sept 1-15 period.
